SDSN Northern Europe welcomes the global SDSN Leadership Council to Stockholm

The Global SDSN Leadership Council meeting with eminent experts on sustainable development from academia, business, civil society, and the public sector, was held the 15-16 May, in Stockholm. “Partnership is key to achieve the SDGs”, that was the key message from several speakers including Jeffrey Sachs, Director of SDSN and Karin Jämtin, Director-General of Sida.
Stefan Bengtsson, President of Chalmers University of Technology and Eva Wiberg, Vice-Chancellor of University of Gothenburg, hosts of the secretariat of SDSN Northern Europe, held an opening speech regarding the role of universities for the SDGs. Several times they highlighted the important collaboration between the universities regarding sustainable development, which is amplified through Gothenburg Center for Sustainable Development and SDSN Northern Europe. The unique collaboration between Chalmers and University of Gothenburg was celebrated by several members of the Leadership Council.
